Claire Foy as Janet Armstrong, Neil's first wife.
Jason Clarke as Ed White, Neil's friend and neighbor, the first American to walk in space, who died during a pre-launch test for Apollo 1, which was to be the first crewed Apollo mission.
Kyle Chandler as Deke Slayton, one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts, who became NASA's first Chief of the Astronaut Office.
Corey Stoll as Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon during Apollo 11.
Patrick Fugit as Elliot See, partnered with Armstrong as backup crew for Gemini 5. Chosen for command on Gemini 9, See was killed in 1966 when his NASA trainer jet crashed in St. Louis, where he was training for that mission.

Cory Michael Smith as Roger Chaffee, capsule communicator for the Gemini 3 and Gemini 4 missions, and the third crew member who was killed with Grissom and White in the Apollo 1 pre-launch test.
J.D. Evermore as Christopher C. Kraft Jr., aerospace engineer, NASA engineer and manager. He was during the Gemini program the head of mission operation in charge of a team flight director also serving as a flight director.
Steve Coulter as Günter Wendt was a German-American mechanical engineer, he was in charge of the close-out crews at the launch pad during the whole Mercury and Project Gemini. Manned phase of the Apollo program at the Kennedy Space Center his official title was Pad Leader.
Skyler Bible as Richard F. Gordon Jr., naval officer and NASA astronaut during the Project Gemini and Apollo program. Pilot of Gemini 11, alongside Pete Conrad. At the time, the flight set an altitude record of 1,369 kilometres (851 mi), which still stands as the highest-apogee Earth orbit.
William Gregory Lee as Gordon Cooper, aerospace engineer, NASA astronaut, test pilot, United States Airforce pilot. In 1963 he piloted the longest and the last Mercury spacefilght the Mercury-Atlas 9 during that 34 hour mission he became the first American to spend an entire day in space and sleep in space. The last American launched on an entirely solo orbital mission.
Choppy Guillotte as John Young, astronaut, naval officer, aviator, test pilot, and aeronautical engineer. Young enjoyed the longest career of any astronaut, becoming the first astronaut to fly with six space missions over the course of 42 years of NASA active service, as one of the only three people to have flown to the moon twice.
